Piper went to summer camp this year in the mountains. It was a long drive, 95 is a killer. So when it came time to pick up my happy camper, we decided to use the trip as a mini getaway to break up the trip. Plus I’ve been wanting to check out Greenville for months. We eventually want to move, Hilton Head is beautiful but expensive. and Greenville is on the maybe list. Greenville is located at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains but has a fun quirky city vibe! It reminded me of Austin, you could be downtown enjoying music and culture but drive a few miles out of town and hike waterfalls.
Greenville has a small town feel with all of the luxuries of a city! It’s been topping lists all over for Best Travel Destination. Hundreds of restaurants have opened in the downtown Greenville area in the past few years. It’s really growing like crazy. Downtown is clean, friendly and cultured. And just outside of the city is a pristine gorgeous mountainside community.

The Greenville Zoo is in right in downtown Greenville. The mission of the Greenville Zoo is to provide an enjoyable guest experience while they support and promote conservation efforts that enhance the quality of life for all living things.
Find the “Mice on Main” – Click on the Website link here to print a list of “hints” to find all 9 Mice on Main! Based on the popular children’s book Goodnight Moon, a bronzed sculpture of the book and one mouse are mounted on the fountain in front of the Hyatt Regency hotel. We didn’t find them all, but there’s always the next trip!
O.P. Taylors advertises as the Coolest Toy Store on the Planet, so we had to stop by! USA Today agreed and so did we. It’s a fun little shop with a Magical Emporium feel to it!
So we loved Greenville, South Carolina. We still have some more exploring to do before we decide if it is our next home. But as of right now, it’s topping the list.
