We recently partnered with Amazon on their new Skill Blueprints and we are in love.   It’s a little personal assistant for our home.   After installing our Amazon Echo, we simply asked Alexa to help us set up our Skill Blueprint.   There are tens of thousands of Alexa Skills that already exist. They can be found and managed in the Alexa app.

Many Amazon customers use Alexa’s many skills every day to make their lives a little easier and a lot more fun. Now with Skill Blueprints, you can make your own skills and truly personalize Alexa for your home and family. After set up, simply say commands such as, “Alexa, let’s play a game”; “Alexa, help me relax”; “Alexa, help me get started with skills”.   Alexa even understands our toddlers.  It’s absolutely crazy, but crazy in the good way.   In addition to the thousands of skills that already exist, you can personalize your Echo by making your own skills in minutes, no coding required.   We are using our Skill Blueprints, right now to build a grocery list, it’s wild.    As the toddlers get older, Alexa can streamline busy households and make routines efficient and fun.   Yes chore charts can be fun.

What is a Blueprint? Alexa Skill Blueprints allow you to make your own Alexa skill for personal use on your Alexa-enabled devices. With over 20 templates in six categories, you can create personalized flash cards, make your own family game, build household chore charts, and much more.

Alexa is more than a fun music player that we originally thought.   Sure she’s awesome with music, but she knows her planets!  We are still discussing homeschooling the toddlers, and how much fun will it be to do a Blueprint with daily class schedules.  As of right now,  she has so many toddler skills.   Oli loves the Leapfrog skills and Milo plays hide and seek with Elmo.    Big sister Piper enjoys the help with her homework.   Matt and I enjoy the added help and reminders that we need to keep our family healthy and happy.  Amazon Echo is helping our entire family.  Thanks Alexa!
