How many times should a baby poop a day? How many diapers should I change a day? Why is my baby’s poop so watery? What should healthy baby poop look like?
I cannot tell you how many times I’ve googled this fun topic. There are many different answers and every baby is different. We’ve discussed this topic with our pediatrician at every single well visit for baby Milo. She was not concerned and assured us he was a typical healthy cute baby who simply pooped often.
Milo was born prematurely through emergency c-section. Some babies get a dose of good bacteria during birth. But antibiotics can kill this good bacteria in moms, so babies born to these mothers and cesarian babies do not get this dose. This healthy bacteria is essential to your babies gut biome.
A microbiome is a collection of tiny microorganisms that live within one’s ecosystems— on our skin, in our eyes and mouth, and in our intestines, or gut. Put them all together and you have your unique microbiome. Babies receive their unique gut microbiome from their mothers’ microbiome the minute they are born.
Your baby’s gut biome is the foundation of their healthy lives. When babies are born they are fed breastmilk. Without this healthy bacteria dose that nature intended to happen at birth, babies cannot digest 15% of the energy from breastmilk. Breastmilk is liquid gold you guys, I want my baby to use all of it. Our power went out last hurricane and I lost a freezer full of breastmilk, I sat on the floor bawling. We work so hard to produce it, pump it, label and store it – it’s completely acceptable to cry if its wasted. Without this bacteria in your babies gut, we are basically wasting it. Evivo Baby Probiotics helps your baby digest more of the energy from your breastmilk.
But thats not all that Evivo Baby Probiotics does. It helps with the last part of digestion as well. If you’ve ever had a baby with gas, constipation or diarrhea, you deserve an internet high five. Babies don’t know how to tell you what is wrong, they just cry and scream. You know something is wrong, but you don’t know how to fix it. You feel awful because they feel awful.
This is where I fell head over heels in love with Evivo. We did 4 weeks of giving baby Milo one syringe of baby probiotics a day. When we started we were going through 10-12 diapers a day and more than half were watery poop. It had gotten to the point where I didn’t want to leave the house. I knew there would be a blowout in the car, at the grocery store, on the soccer field, or at a restaurant. It was just too much, so we stayed home near a bathtub. We were using the expensive night time disposables all day long and that cabinet full of gorgeous cloth diapers was just sitting there collecting dust. Our doctor checked him multiple times and told us, it was temporary and would end soon (it didn’t).
One week in after using EVIVO, I noticed a dramatic change in his poop. It was starting to solidify, starting to hurt him less while he was pooping, and best of all – his mood had become more pleasant. This trend kept getting better. We are on week 4 now, Milo is pooping once a day. It’s soft normal baby poop. It doesn’t smell bad, it doesn’t hurt him, he’s back in cute cloth diapers, and I’m not afraid to leave the house. Evivo has been a game changer in our house. I know that term is thrown around, but I now understand the true meaning. Maybe not a game changer but a life changer?
When baby is happy, everyone is happy.
Evivo has changed our lives for the better and I plan on screaming the good news from the tops of all of the towers. We will continue to use Evivo for as long as Milo is breastfed because studies suggest that babies with B. infantis growing strong inside them have less risk of allergies and diseases, improved immunity and less inflammation.
