Be at War with Your Vices, at Peace with Your Neighbors, and Let Every New Year Find You a Better Man  (or WOMAN) – Benjamin Franklin.

Happy 2019 Y’all! I wish you the best year ever!  2018 was a good year and I’m hoping 2019 is so much better. I have so many goals for 2019:  be more organized, learn videography, a few key yoga goals, spend more time with my 12-year-old daughter, learn to belly dance, donate time and money to my favorite causes, travel, eat healthy, you know the usual.

Always has some major goals for 2019 too.  Their Always Live #LikeAGirl program will continue and is all about helping girls stay confident. They have done that by encouraging girls to stay in sports and encouraging them to persevere through failure — both of which are key confidence boosters.

Piper hurt her collarbone bad in October and is so antsy to get back to the tennis courts.   While I’m sure it will take some time to get back to where she was before the injury, I plan on being right by her side to cheer her on.  So I see where Always is coming from, confident girls are our future. The future is female y’all!

One of the causes I’m very interested in helping is period poverty.  Period poverty is a real problem in the U.S. Nearly 1 in 5 girls have missed school because they can’t afford period protection. But it’s not just school they miss. It also means missing out on the sport or activity that they love.  And the side effects of missing out on their activities outside of school can be just as real. At puberty, girls’ confidence plummets and having to miss activities because of lack of access to period products only makes this drop in confidence worse.

Missing those few months of tennis have hurt Piper’s tennis confidence tremendously.  I have faith that she can get her groove back, but imagine losing 5 or more days every month.  It would be the worst.

Luckily, there is an easy way YOU can help!

To help #EndPeriodPoverty, Always and Walmart are donating a year’s supply of period products to 50 teams in 50 states. In addition, for every purchase of a 3-pack box of Always Pads, Always will donate a pack to girls in need across the US. This donation happens when you buy from Walmart during the month of January.

So here’s the game plan y’all.  STOCK UP. Make the donation-triggering purchases on .  Walmart will ship directly to your front door, in a discreet blue Walmart box. You can fill your bathroom closet with supplies that you already need and help girls stay in the activities they love.
