I don’t handle winter well.  I grew up in Texas and have lived in warm climates most of my life.  Now that we live in South Carolina, the weather is crazy to me.  One day it’s 80 Fahrenheit and you are considering turning on the air conditioner and the next day it’s 50 fahrenheit.  My skin hates it, my attitude sucks, and I miss summer.

These are my main essentials helping me through it all….

hope in a jar | My skin goes crazy with the weather and I need some major moisture.   It does smell a little weird to me, but my skin glows when I use it daily.  The glow lasts for days and the smell disappears after a few moments.  So it’s worth it.

citrus |  I love citrus fruits in the winter.  I can eat boxes and boxes of clementines.   Winter is cold and flu season and Vitamin C helps protect against immune system deficiencies.   It also makes your skin glow.

Burt’s Bees Lip Balm  |  We were in Ohio last week and I kept meaning to stop and get lip balm.  Luckily Santa put some in my stocking.  My lips get so dry in the cold.

Sloomb wool  | We started using wool for Oli because he was a heavy wetter at night and fell in love.  It’s on my winter list because snuggling in the winter is the best part of this horrible season.  And soft Sloomb makes them so cuddly!  Sloomb’s adult wool line comes out soon, and I’m beyond excited.

water | This one is wishful thinking.  I need to drink more water, especially in the winter.

Vick’s Cool Mist Humidifier  | I received this humidifier complimentary from Influenster.  I laughed at first.  I live on an island surrounded by water, our average humidity is pretty high year round.  But both babies came home from Ohio with sinus infections.  This humidifier is helping them sleep better and get well fast.  It also blows cool air, not that hot balmy air that is usually associated with humidifiers.

Matcha | I’m still learning to love the Matcha.  But the benefits outweigh the spinach vegetable taste.  It’s full of antioxidants and long-lasting caffeine.  I feel so accomplished after I get a cup down.   I keep reading the taste grows on you, still waiting.

Other things that are knocking me out of my winter blah mood.   The Avett Brothers are coming here on tour in March.  And I totally just installed Grammarly on my computer.  Finger’s crossed it helps with my blogging grammar.  #mombie
